I’ve analysed several recent zoom calls and the question I get asked the most frequently during introductory calls is the above. I’ve been asked it so many times I can tell you instantly if the person asking the question is also a Man Utd fan….
For example, I was once asked the same question during an interview. I could tell it wasn’t a scripted question because I could see the other interviewee rolled his eyes in frustration. Before the independent panel member could stop me answering, I told my future boss that I was indeed a season ticket holder and coincidentally I started my new job before the week was out.
Conversely I lived in Leeds for 15 plus years, there I was asked this question many, many times after several awkward conversations I settled on saying I didn’t follow football….
