I’ve recently reflected on the work I’ve carried out in 2024 so far and I’ve noticed a reoccurring recent trend.
I am being asked less to look at current compliance requirements but more to look at regulatory challenges and opportunities for specific products and sectors over a 5 year period. Alternatives to single use plastic is an interesting case in point.
A recent client hit the nail on the head, “No point in me investing time and resources on this product when the market opportunity has been reduced to zero (due to overburdensome legislation) by the time I’ve started turning a profit”. If only I had met him 5 years ago things may have been different..
