The 1990’s produced one of my all-time favourite albums ‘Nevermind’ and within that the ultimate grunge anthem ‘Smells like Teen Spirit’.
I often label Nirvana as the best band I’ve never seen, I had tickets to watch them at the GMex in March 1994 but for tragic reasons I never got to see them perform. Unbeknown to me until very recently is that in actual fact ‘teen spirit’ was a girls deodorant launched in 1991 by the ‘Mennen’ brand owned by Colgate Palmolive.

This provides me seamlessly onto my chosen topic of discussion for the next few weeks which will explore the cosmetic industry and the post Brexit regulatory environment that circulates around it in what will be a particularly interesting year.

I’ll be covering a whole manner of topics that will include:

How the primary authority scheme could better support the cosmetic and personal care sector.

Explaining the role of ports and borders and how DSL Consulting can navigate your way around the process, the raft of paperwork and the key labelling considerations.

The role of the Scientific Advisory Group (SAG), its remit and how it will support our regulatory regime.

And lastly…a look into the latest trends as well as the opportunities to be had for those who might want to infiltrate new markets especially as the demand for natural ethical ingredients sees exponential growth.
