Albert Einstein is attributed with the above quote, and it holds true for both your personal and business life.
I don’t know if its just me, but I can’t seem to be to find a reliable microwave nowadays. The most recent one lasted barely 6 months before it began to constantly blow the RCD on our consumer unit…
A quick exchange with the retailers chatbot, established that a) I owned the product in question (hence my name scrawled on the front of the product!) and b) I was entitled to a replacement product.
Next I was asked to cut off the 🔌 and I was directed to Electrical Safety First guidance (excellent I hasten to add!) on recycling electrical products.
So in a nutshell, no physical examination of the defective product to establish if there’s a systematic safety issue. No attempt to reuse/repair the product in either it’s entirely or for parts. Any business needs to trade-off product safety/sustainability against commercial viability and this can be very challenging. I’ll let you draw your own conclusions whether the balance has been struck on this occasion…..
